New!! Sign Up Link for August Mass at St. Ann

As our attendance numbers are increasing, it is more important to sign up online ahead of time. Please use the link below to sign up to attend Mass at St. Ann for the month of August. (Please be sure to check the date of the Mass you are signing up for so you sign up for the one you want to attend!) Thank you!

This link is also available on the home page of the parish website!

We require that everyone – including children over 2 – wear a mask during Mass, and maintain social distancing. (One household per pew!) We ask that parishioners enter by the front doors only so that staff can keep an accurate count. Hand sanitizer is also provided by each door. If you need assistance signing up, please call the parish office (535-3031) or email Thank you!

Readers Needed for Mass in August

We are in need of readers for both the Saturday & Sunday Masses. We only need one reader per Mass to do 1st and 2nd readings, the responsorial psalm in between (if musicians are not available) and the prayers of the faithful (found in the red missal book) following the homily. Please use the link below to sign up if you will be attending Mass and are willing to be the reader. Call or email the parish office if you need assistance. Thank you!

Readers for August:

Prayer Service on Zoom – Sunday at 11:00 AM

We will continue to offer the Prayer service on Zoom for those members of our community who are unable to attend Mass, so that we can continue to gather together in prayer. Through the Summer months, we are using a new format – Lectio Divina – for our prayer service, which allows for meditation, listening and sharing. The link is emailed out through the parish email list on Saturday. All are welcome – please join us!

Social Justice Committee

The staff would like to start a social justice committee at St. Ann. This group would discuss social justice issues and set guidelines to help advise Father Patrick about what types of issues our community wants to support. If you are interested in being a part of this committee, please contact a member of the parish staff.

Prayer Booklets Available

The newest “Living Faith” and “Living with Christ” prayer books are in the office for those who would like one. They can be picked up after Mass, or from the office during office hours. Please call the office first, as staff are working a combination of shortened office hours and working from home. Please leave a message and staff will get back to you to arrange a time.

Franciscan Corner

In the Franciscan tradition, today is the feast of the Portiuncula (Italian) also called The Little Portion. This small chapel, which Francis repaired, is where Francis began the Franciscan order. When the Sisters of St Francis closed St Joseph Family Center in 2017, they wanted to continue to share their Franciscan spirituality here in Spokane and looked for a new location. They found a home in a familiar place –St Charles parish. Two Sisters opened “The Little Portion”, a ministry of spiritual direction, retreats and accompaniment. It was a homecoming for them because in 1951 this same congregation of Franciscan Sisters opened St Charles school. Who says you can’t go home again?

(Thank you to Sr. Joanne for sharing these Franciscan reflections with us.)
