Celebrating Transito!

Happy Birthday, Transito!! A big thank you to all those from the St Ann community who joined Transito and her family to celebrate her 80th birthday on Saturday, February 3rd!  Food, family, music, faith & love – what a beautiful celebration of an amazing woman.  The family shared their gift of music with the community at mass and at the birthday party afterwards.  Some of Transito’s family members gave a presentation, in English and Spanish, about the family’s relationship to Oscar Romero and their journey from El Salvador to Spokane.  And Transito herself gave a short but moving speech!  We are truly blessed by Transito, and the many gifts this family shares with our community!

“We cannot do everything, and there is a sense of liberation in realizing that. This enables us to do something, and to do it very well. It may be incomplete, but it is a beginning, a step along the way, an opportunity for the Lord’s grace to enter and do the rest.”
– Archbishop Romero

Kitchen update: fire suppressant system required

Since we have met our goal and paid off the new commercial refrigerator for the Neighborhood Sunday Lunch Program, any donations that were given last week or any new donations for the Neighborhood Sunday Lunch program (unless you specify otherwise) will go towards the required fire suppressant system, which is crucial to keeping the kitchen cooking.  Thank you!!
