Youth Ministry News

Back to School is just around the corner! That means our youth programs will start again soon.   Here’s what you need to know:

Youth Ministry Kick-Off is Sunday, September 17th.  Registration will take place after mass.

First Communion/Confirmation preparation will begin September 24th, after mass.

Supplies:  If you are out doing your back to school shopping and want to contribute a package of markers or glue sticks to the youth group, we can always use them!

Our program is growing and we are in need of volunteers for Youth Ministry this year. Please contact the office at 534-3031 if you are interested in helping with our youth!

First session of directory portraits completed!

The first weekend of free portrait sessions for the new parish directory was this past weekend, August 4-6.  The directory is an important way for parishioners to connect with each other – and the portrait sessions this weekend were a wonderful start!   Many members enjoyed chatting with one another while they signed in and waited – sometimes returning to finish conversations after their session was over!  Even the photographers from Lifetouch commented on how much our parish feels like family.

Thanks to all the parishioners who took part in the first portrait session.  The next session will be in late September.  More details coming soon!

Portrait sessions for the new directory

Free portrait sessions for the new parish directory!

The parish directory is a great way for parishioners to stay connected.  We would love to have photos of all our members for the directory.  Parishioners can sign up online for portrait times August 4, 5 & 6.  It’s super easy and convenient.   Go to https://booknow-lifetouch.appointment-plus.com/y1brnctg/ and follow the prompts.  There are still times available for this first session and we need to fill them with you!   If you are unable to sign up for a time for this first session, there will be another session in the fall.

Garden blessings!

Embracing the spirit of the encyclical Laudato si by Pope Francis, we are blessed to have several talented parishioners who share their gifts by tending the gardens around St Ann Church.  We are grateful for the beauty they surround us with as we gather together, giving us a physical reminder to care for our planet.

“LAUDATO SI’, mi’ Signore” – “Praise be to you, my Lord”. In the words of this beautiful canticle, Saint Francis of Assisi reminds us that our common home is like a sister with whom we share our life and a beautiful mother who opens her arms to embrace us. “Praise be to you, my Lord, through our Sister, Mother Earth, who sustains and governs us, and who produces various fruit with coloured flowers and herbs”.

~Pope Francis, Laudato si (#1)
