Reminder – Saturday Mass Time Change This Weekend!

Starting this weekend, on March 19th, our Saturday Mass will begin at 4:00 PM and will continue at that time until the time changes again in November.

Stations of the Cross – Fridays at 7:00 PM

The Social Justice Ministry will be hosting Stations of the Cross services on Zoom each Friday during Lent at 7:00 PM, beginning this Friday, March 18th.  Like last year, we will be using social justice themed scripts for these services.  All are welcome!

If you would like to volunteer to read at one of the services, please email

Virtual Baby Shower for Sonia & Michel!

The St. Ann community is excited to celebrate with Sonia and Michel as they prepare to welcome a baby into the family this April.  This coming weekend of March 19 & 20, we ask for your prayers of welcoming and celebration. We will also have a basket at the front of the church for those who would like to “shower” the baby with gifts.

Please email the parish office if you have any questions.

St. Ann Synod Report

Thank you to all who participated in the synod through voiced and written responses and prayer.  Thanks especially to Pierrette, Barb, Susan and Mark for all the work they put in organizing and running the listening sessions!  Here is a link to the report written by the committee, followed by a list of the responses.

Daily Devotional for Lent – Full to the Brim

For the season of Lent this year, St. Ann will again use the Sanctified Arts program in our liturgies. This program includes a Lenten Devotional booklet that the parish can use together.  There is a download link for the virtual version, or you can email the office to request a printed copy.

Craig’s Corner – Lenten Discussion group

Here is Craig’s reflection for the beginning of Lent:

Craig is also offering to lead an additional discussion group focusing on the Lenten Devotional from Sanctified Arts that St. Ann is using as a parish during Lent.   A day and time will be chosen by those who are interested in joining this group.  Please email the parish office if you are interested in joining this new discussion group!

Lenten Project

This Lent, St. Ann’s will continue to collect donations for an Afghan family in Spokane.  Instead of collecting general household items, like we did with our World Relief collection in January, we have a basket in the church with tags asking for specific items needed by family members. (We will also work on setting up an online giving site for those not yet attending Mass in person – or you can email the office to ask for a tag.)   We ask that you please only bring items that are on the tags and bring the tag back with your donation.  Thank you so much to all those who picked up tags already!

Message from the Pastoral Team About Relaxing of the Mask Mandate

According to the Washington State Department of Health, as of Saturday, March 12th, 2022, masking will be optional in indoor settings, regardless of vaccination status.

Although this is a relaxation in mask protocols, if you or your family members feel more comfortable wearing a mask, you are certainly welcome to continue doing so. As a welcoming and accepting community, we must remain respectful of others’ feelings and not judge others’ personal decisions. Father Patrick, members of the Pastoral Team who assist him at Mass, and ministers on the altar will continue to wear masks and follow Covid safety protocols during Mass. The Pastoral Team asks that you prayerfully consider your comfort level, as well as the safety of the vulnerable in our community, when you make a decision for yourself and your family members. We ask for your patience and understanding as the Pastoral Team continues to monitor and carefully consider decisions about any changes to our Covid safety protocols.

Roof Donation – Thank you

All Saints Catholic School teacher Lauren E. and her husband Tim have made a significant donation to our “Raise the Roof” campaign in honor of Tim’s grandmother, Francis H.  We are very thankful for their kind and generous donation!  You have helped us get closer to replacing the roof on St. Ann’s Church.

Raise the Roof – Wine Sale

You can support the Raise the Roof fundraiser by buying wines from the St. Ann wine shop.  There are still some wines left from the February sales in the online wine shop – and more wines coming soon.

Franciscan Corner

“The Lord taught me what was mine to do, may He teach you what is yours to do”.

Francis asked the Pope to allow him and his followers to live the Gospel, literally. The Pope thought it would be too hard a life. So they dialogued, they prayed, they talked, and they listened. The Pope had a dream and in that dream he saw a poor man holding up the church and recognized that that poor man was Francis. He gave his blessing to Francis and the brothers to live the Gospel. Don’t dismiss your dreams, they may just be the impetus to respond to the needs of the world in our time. Listen to them, talk to others about them, pray about them and then, do what is yours to do.

(Thank you to Sr. Joanne for sharing these Franciscan reflections with us.)
