St Ann Clean-Up Day

The St. Ann Maintenance Ministry is planning a work and clean-up day on Saturday, May 21,  11:00 AM – 4:00 PM.  Everyone is invited to help clean up in the church and the parish house.  This is a great way to get to know other parishioners.  There is an online sign up link below –  or you can just show up on Saturday May 21st  to help.   All are welcome!

Coffee & Donuts

We know that many parishioners have been anxiously waiting for coffee and donuts – and the chance to visit with one another – to resume. The Pastoral Team has discussed this many times over the last two years and have decided to open the Hall back up starting in June. So, St. Ann will celebrate the start of coffee and donuts again on June 5th for Pentecost Sunday, and continue as long as it seems safe to do so.

New Parish Council Members

The Parish Council is beginning discernment for new members of the Council.  Being on the Parish Council is one of many ways to get involved in the Parish.  If you are interested in being considered for this position or would like to suggest someone you think might be interested, please let a current Parish Council member know, or contact the Parish office.

Current members are Barb B, Shonna B, Kelleen E, Andy L, Susan L, Crystal M, Gary M, Tresa S, Hannah V-H, and Pierrette W.   Full names of the current members are listed on the front of the paper bulletin, and in the emailed version of the virtual bulletin.

Raise the Roof –  Wine Sales

Thank you to all who took part in our Easter Wine sale!  You can continue to support the Raise the Roof fundraiser by buying wines from the St. Ann wine shop.   Check out the wine offerings on the website:  https://www.rimacrafts.com/

Climate Corner

As we all know, plastic pollution is a huge factor in the degradation of our rivers, the oceans, and our entire environment. Try this challenge: attempt to go plastic-free for one entire day!

  • go strawless at the fast-food restaurant
  • request a real cup for your coffee at your favorite coffee establishment
  • while grocery shopping try buying items in paper or glass, rather than plastic
  • for food-saving, try to refrain from baggies and plastic storage containers

Once you realize how very difficult this is, strategize how you might change future buying habits in order to mitigate plastic from your lives. Every little bit helps!

(Thank you to members of the SJM Climate Action Committee for these Climate Action tips.)

Franciscan Corner

“The Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you”. Francis of Assisi listened to Jesus. He received and listened to the Advocate, the Holy Spirit. Francis was taught by the Holy Spirit thru prayer who he was, what he was to do, how he was to interact with others, the rich and poor alike. It was thru the Advocate that Francis saw all creation as his sister or brother. Remember we too have received that Advocate, that same Holy Spirit. Do we listen to that Spirit that has been poured into our hearts? It is written on our hearts, in our very being. Do we listen, do we believe what we hear?

(Thank you to Sr. Joanne for sharing these Franciscan reflections with us.)
